You do realize that Managers don't make those signs that hang outside every store in a nation-wide chain, right? And that some "fucking idiots" (by which, I think you mean Jews) complaining to their manager doesn't get the corporate PR company to change their slogans, right? PR firms realized that by saying "Happy Holidays" they could appeal to the widest possible audience to try an attract the most money.

This "Happy Holidays" thing had been going on for a long time. Last year, there were signs all around saying "Happy Holidays" and there wasn't a bitch, moan or groan in sight. This year, the AFA raised protest and the news networks ran with it. And you came right along. Way to roll with the talking points.

And I had an ounce of respect for you when you wailed on ma_ before. I thought it was clever.

    EDIT: Republican Christmas Card.

I'm not sure what to reply to Simplex's posts anymore since most of the time I reply and he says it was just a joke, a satire, or it was his grandmother on the computer again.

You don't see anything weird with calling a christmas tree a "Holiday Tree?" What if I called a Menorah a "Holiday Candle Set?" They're both ridiculous claims and who can say they aren't pushing it too far?

I don't necessarily have a problem with saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, but changing the words that have been used for so long is bound to piss off the 76.5% (more or less) of the population of the U.S. that are Christian (also see here for another resource).

Our whole government is based on majority. If Christians are an extremely high majority, why the hell not just keep it "Merry Christmas." So if this is some huge brilliant economic decision that about 77% of the country is pissed off about and 23% isn't, then my hat's off to them if it works.

I dunno about a New Year's post... Wouldn't want more of a little heated 'debate' over the underlying political diatribe on the meaning of the event.

                    Oh come on!

This New Year's we get an extra Leap second! You can fit it in!

For those too lazy to Wiki:

"A leap second is an intercalary, one-second adjustment that keeps broadcast standards for time of day close to mean solar time. Leap seconds are used to keep time standards synchronized with civil calendars, the basis of which is astronomical."
