  • Mapping Contest Underway

The crew over at FPSBanana is offering up a mapping contest for CS: Source. Searching for the best map that delivers some of the hottest custom hostage rescue action around, the contest will run until January 31, 2006 and will offer a grand prize of Medal of Honor: European Assault (Xbox), Batman Begins (PS2), and $100 (USD).
FPSB is looking to rent or buy a secret island base to use as its headquarters over winter! Your task is to construct such a base as a CSS map. The map should make some reference to bananas and must be CS_ Hostage Rescue for CSS!

    Design Brief

The island base must have the following inclusions:

  • A helipad, to escort FPSB delegates and kidnapped politicians

  • A nuclear silo, possibly hidden beneath a swimming pool, to threaten the West

  • An aquarium, where kidnapped politicians may be fed to sharks

  • An underwater entrance to the base

  • A control room, with lots of computers and flashing LEDs

  • A kitchen and a dining room with a nice view of the ocean
  • For all of you students out there, what better way is there to kill some free time then to build a map for cash and prizes over the upcoming holiday break? And no, writing your name in the snow is not a productive use of your free time.

too bad the hostages will inevitably get stuck on something because their AI sucks so bad.

oh, and that's one shitty prize package.

These map requirements are ridiculous. Why don't they just make the map themselves if they have such specific requests...?

Gotta agree with you there. Requiring all those things - IN A MULTIPLAYER MAP - is ridiculous. It'll upset the focus of the map and the gameplay.

They should just be grateful for getting any maps at all. But at least they're offering incentives, even if all the maps they get are the same...

we dont want our winter getaway to suck D:<

I'm not sure how serious those requirements are though, the Austrialian owner of the site has a sense of humor of his own...

You know damn well if your mom saw that you typed that she would take away your grand theft auto and make you cry.

Seriously, the only requirements should have been a CS map on an island.
