    cs:s is retail too.

    source is retail too.
    Did you buy HL2?

And, besides, when you buy CSS, all you download is the basic HL2 executables plus a mod on top of it.

Source is a Valve's game engine.

Darwinia is a fascinating, unique game, I've owned since it originally launched. People who have never played it and judge it purely on screenshots are revealing an immense amount of arrogance and stupidity on their own behalf.

Why is it relevant if i bought it or not?

I dont even play it because its such as shit game.

But once valve let people buy it as a stand alone, it is no longer a free game, even if you got it for "free" with HL2.

I got that impression as well. Namely the things that look like this:

                http://www.wurch.de/images/misc/tron.jpg

It just went above and beyond once I saw those things in the game. Certainly looking forward to this.

Didn't they disable a lot of those "free" css accounts?

If it's really free how can I get another free one for my 2nd computer?

CS:S was displayed as one of the things included in the purchase of any Half-Life 2 package on steam, and retail Half-Life 2 boxes. As such, it's included; not free.

The only things which could be considered as "free" rather than included are the things that later got added, which weren't displayed as the time of the individual's purchase. Such as HL2DM for some, various added maps, etc. Of course, if HL2DM was part of the displayed package at the time of a person's purchase, it could not be considered a free addon to HL2DM that he/she should be thankful they have, as they bought the thing after seeing that HL2DM was included.

And if you are so desperate for those models, the codename for getting them is CS 1.6. Remember CSS is free. They didn't have to give it to you.
Uhhh, okay. Sure thing, man. I'm just pointing out that for all the big ballin' business Valve does, a couple player models seem to take ages to complete.

Actually, sorry, but I should point out that I don't even play CS or CS:S anymore - I was just making an objective comment on the subject.

Yeah. I just watched the Darwinia video. This game looks like crap. And they totally ripped their idea off of Tron. Can't they come up with something original? Those flying units are exactly the same as the things in Tron. EXACTLY.
