    CPL Announces Largest CS Tournament

Just announced today, the CPL has big plans in store for the Summer 2006 CPL tournament. Set to raise the bar higher than ever before in terms of prize winnings, the event will surely not want to be missed.
A total of 256 international teams will compete at the CPL 2006 Summer Event for a record-breaking $300,000 in cash prizes. These prizes will be distributed among the top 64 teams, with $90,000 going to the winning team. See total prize distribution.

BYOC and competitor admission fee is $100 per person until January 1, 2006, and then increases to $125. Spectator passes are $25 per person. Teams can immediately register online at www.TheCPL.com/register/.

The CPL summer event will also host a large 2,000-person BYOC area.
For the pros and wannabe-pros alike, it's time to fine tune your skills for the largest event in CS CPL history.

"Today, the CPL announced that once again it is raising the bar by launching the largest Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament ever."

Maybe someday it will read Counter-Strike Source.

Maybe if SourceTV was half as decent as HLTV. No first person spectator mode? Come on.

$100+ for a BYOC.. LOL, and people overhere are already complaining that €40 is to much for a LAN-event.. Ohw, and they kick you out of the BYOC hall at midnight at CPL I heard.. But then again it's the CPL, not just some LAN..
