I hope the inside of Nuke is filled with gay porn banners. Then let's see who has the orgasm.
A peek at de_nuke, HDR, and Two Updated Models

Go play 1.6 if you like it so damn much
WTF THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE 1.6 WAS MUCH BETTER
Jesus, it's not that hard...
EDIT: I find it funny how people think that Source's nuke looks so much like other HL2 maps, while forgetting that 1.6's Nuke looked like it was taken straight out of Half Life 1. Get off your high horses.Comment

And I happen to like the HL2-locale theme. go wank off to FEAR or something.Comment

Roffles at all the whiners, Calm down :)
Anyhoo, it looks a little dull from that screenshot, hopefully we will see some nicer lighting in the final version. However, it's promising that they seem to be doing nothing too radical to the map. I'd love to see the leet krew model implemented, it's be so sweet just to see the reflections in his glasses.

Between kerosine99 and AlexMax, well said.
Considering that de_nuke is, in my opinion, one of (if not the) ugliest maps currently in CS1.6 I really don't think VALVe could make a new version that looks as bad as the old, especially if that picture is anything to judge the average quality from.
Don't get me wrong, I love de_nuke, but that's due to layout and gameplay balance reasons, not for anything visual. Something like cs_compound I have exactly the opposite opinion of... I think it looks very nice, but in my limited experience it just doesn't play particularly well.
Seriously, though, look at that old pic, all romanticism and "good old days" aside, and you'd have to have the most absolutely bland sense of taste to prefer that look to that of the new pic. I may be less of a fan of how CS:S plays than the older versions, but the visual upgrade, creative or not, is undenyable.
Looking forward to the HDR option, definitely, whether I'd play with it on or not.Comment

What is the big deal about HDR anyways? I've been playing DoD:S and I don't really notice any difference between CS:S and DoD:S in terms of graphic lighting effects.
Yes, I have HDR turned on.
Yes, my hardware supports it.
Is HDR just the effects when you step into the shadows and bright lights? If so, that is a pretty minor thing.
And to be quite honest, it might almost be better to play with it off. I don't see how it can give you any advantage. And the glare/brightness can mess you up if you run into it at the wrong time.
just my 2 cents :)Comment

^^ HDR is the bloom, retraction and refraction, and the thing that makes you go OH F*** I NEED TO CHANGE MY PANTS.cablecopulate wrote..
The fact that he's reloading in the middle of everything and not seeking cover makes it seem like he's a bot, or a really shitty player.
That CT got caught reloading at a really shitty time.Comment

Surprised no one has commented how good the "Warfare Model" looks least you can say Valve is working hard, I like the look of the map the detail with every new map implemented into source is better quality than the last one, is gonna look very sweet indeed.
Btw the post about the Counter-Terrorist not moving anyone consider that he is actually looking at the floor and reloading..... how is he meant to see the Terrorist. Just my opinion on the subject
