I didn't see a score or a rating for the map
My original idea was only to review maps that were worth playing, rather than have a score which would be very subjective anyway. I haven't ruled out scoring, but I hope my reviews will give you enough of a flavor to decide if the maps suit your cs tastebuds.

      Oh...the map's for Counter-Strike: Source.
I haven't played cs since cs-s came out and don't feel qualified to review maps for it at this point. If you feel that I'm missing out on some fantastic (and new) maps for 1.6, feel free to email me.

I made up most of the long words using boggle and huffing crazy glue, god willing no one will check a dictionary.

This map is pretty damn awesome. I have been playing it for a month or so now and love it. Great texture work for the most part and the layout is very nice.

That's it Nighthawk, you've finally managed to confuse more than 90% of CSNation's viewers.
Mission accomplished. :) The sad part was that I didn't need to bust out a thesauraus to do so... why oh why am I an English major?

That was beautiful. Between Taco Bell and now this, you've officially made it onto my unwritten list of awesome people.

I think we want to give it a "map of the week" feel, so numbers may fit in with that goal. Maybe the beginning of the article should go over pros/cons, not the end?

Haha, you'll fit in just fine with the CSN team...

Awesome, I love custom maps; the only drawback is that you have to really hunt to find a server playing a map you like. CSNation promoting good custom maps may help out some there.

A rating system similar to SotD sounds good to me, too.

definatly get a MotW (map of the week) thing going. that would be pretty good.

I'm with peagle... Unlike a model, I dont think that a map's true value comes out within the first few minutes of playing, it takes time for the ebb and flow of the map to truly reveal itself. With a model you can study form, texture, sound and animation alone within a few minutes, but for a map you need a several players and time to determine it's balance and the layout. This is probably the hardest part- finding popular servers that are playing the map you are reviewing. As long as a map plays well, I dont really care what theme it is, or take that much notice of what it looks like.

Bottom line is: If I know what to expect from a map when I see it on a votemap, I'm much more likely to vote for it. I very much believe others think that way too...

I haven't really played CS or Counter-Strike: Source for any substantial period for a few years now myself (Though, I may play for a few minutes at a friends). I just don't like Counter-Strike: Source at all, so I was stifled.

                    No offense to you.

de_losttemple is a great evenly blanaced map, with multiple paths to each bombsite making it an excellent choice for people who actually want to play Terrorists and plant the bomb.

                      /me waves at peagle

In any case, I am not sure what is wrong with the CS community that we can fill a dust server full of players, anywhere from a 16 player through to a 40 player server and people will play on the god forsaken map for hours on end, with the usual outcome being the Terrorists camping at spawn or the top of their end of the ramp and picking off impatent CT's, yes such a great map to show case everything that is good about Counter-Strike, where as we make a server for a balanced map such as de_losttemple, setup the sv_downloadurl so the map downloads rather quickly, but nobody wants to play on it.

Anyhow good review, maybe somebody will listen, but I guess we are preaching to the converted here.

I am looking forward to more custome maps worth playing reviews, I may even create a server for them.

Try busting out a dictionary to check spelling on the word "thesaurus". I wouldn't have pointed this out for anyone else but an english major.
