    Ottawa LAN Tournament

The head of a LAN tournament in Ottawa passes along the details of an upcoming tournament taking place. The breakdown of the LAN tournament is as follows.
    • Max Attendance: 80

    • Entry Fee: $15 Individual or 50 if you register the whole team at once

    • Location: St. Laurent Shopping Center in the College Space

    • Duration 2 days (Dec 2nd - 3rd)

    • Contact: Shawn via Email: swift_storm@msn.com
The tournament is a 16 team, double elimination event. So if you're in the Ottawa area, or will be between December 2nd and 3rd, why not hit up a LAN tournament?

I get to do LANs maybe 2-3x a year tops, but they're definitely good times. Come the evening of Jan 14, I've got some highschoolers out in Stayton to show that being a vet means years of experience, not just gobs of free time. :) Won some fun stuff out there last time I went... ah, the joys of being a ringer.

But whether you're good or not, any LAN event is usually good times -- assuming you enjoy the somewhat nerdy environment. :)

Are you the 21 year old who used to hang out around my high school and try to show everbody porn so people would think he was cool?

I think in order to entice ppl I'm gonna bump it up to about 120ppl and give a cash prize...Don't ask how much, that's TBA.

I happen to be a resident of Ottawa. The Senators did astonishingly well against the Leafs the other day.

I don't happen to be a CS:S player, however, so I'll probably have to pass on this unique occasion in my home city. All well.

I happen to be on the same boat as Helkite: I'm an Ottawa local that owns it up in CS but I dont play Source. Therefore, until 1.6 is adopted I'll have to pass :S

I'm Seriously considering 1.6 as an addition...cause I've had alot of ppl asking me if 1.6 is gonna be a part of it, give me a day or 2 and I just might decide to put 1.6 in there so that I can have everyone involved.

I would like to make this a good oportunity for the gamers of Ottawa to unite for a weekend.

Hey I live in Ottawa as well. I'm going to Ottawa U. This sounds like it could be fun. Do you have to be part of a clan or something? Because I don't know anyone who plays CS or CSS in Ottawa. Definately have both if you must. I play source simply because its not on the ugly ass HL1 engine. As far as gameplay goes I'm just as good in CSS as I was in CS 1.6. Get with the times people! :P

Oh and I should mention that there are other LAN organizations in Ottawa. They seemed to have gotten a good turn out so if you want to make it big or something you should try and contact them. I've never been to a LAN but I could imagine that it would be a lot easier getting one together with people who have done them before. The one I'm thinking about was held at Carleton U.
