GMod v9.0 This Friday

Knowing full well how much you enjoy your third party mods, it is my pleasure to pass along word that Garry's Mod will hit version 9.0 this Friday!

Everything is wrapping up nicely. Linux server is compiled and working perfectly, the guys that have made the Gamemodes are wrapping their stuff up. It’s all looking good for Friday.



So I’ve decided on a time to release. I didn’t want it to be too late for us UK guys so I chose 10PM BST.

BST - 22:00

PDT - 14:00

EDT - 17:00

DCT - 16:00

CEST - 23:00

EST - 07:00



If you can’t work out the time from that try this page which will list all of the times for you.

I suppose this also means just one more day before an entirely new era of GMod POTD's!

yea, releasing something at a specific time guarentees your severs will choke because everybody's trying to download the thing at the same time.

Good, thanks Garry. The suspense was killing me, all week i've been crossing my fingers on a release time and bam, here it is! I always like to stay on top of important news such as this, hot damn now I know the exact moment of release! W00T! /endsarcasm

Seeing as Garry's Mod can more or less serve as a base platform for other multiplayer mods, it would make sense to have a scheduled release to ensure there aren't problems with incompatible versions. But of course, you're all too busy making superbly witty comments to stop and consider that.



I've got no particular affinity for Garry, but his mod is a quality piece of work that really does contribute a lot to the community.
