    review: audiofx force feedback headset

Seeing as how it's been about two years since our last product review, we figured it was about time to get things restarted with a bang! The latest review is from yours truly and centers around the AudioFX gaming headset from eDimensional. Here's just a little sample of what's in store for you:
I noticed no sound distortion and no noise crackling during the course of my listening. I continued to test out the sound quality just in listening to music by throwing in some of The Faint, Alkaline Trio, and a bit of the Kaiser Chiefs for my listening pleasure. I cranked the volume up slightly past half way and varied the degree of added vibration from none at all to maximum.

No matter what the setting was for the vibration, the sound quality never seemed to be phased. This is a very good thing indeed. If nothing else, the sound quality was enriched by adding the vibration effect. It almost feels like there's a tiny band member in your head providing happy little beats directly into your ear. Yeah, you heard me!
If that quote doesn't scream "read this article right now" then I don't know what does!

I can't really see an advantage to this if you are a 'hardcore' gamer, looks like a lot of fun for a casual gamer though, but when you can pick up an older but obviously superior set of sennheisers for the same price, most people wouldn't give these a look in. It's nice to see that people are trying to bring another element to the game though. However, I'll stick with my Steelsound 5h's for now

Anyway, I liked the review, it was a good read, hope to see another one soon. :)

i prefer my £32.99 5.1 surround headfones.. WITH subwoofer :) stereo is a thing of the past, even with cmss3D it's not as good as these 5.1's :)

i'm thinking they got the "vibration" idea from these though.. cuz when u get em setup right the sub doesn't half vibrate my ears.. and they look virtually the same..

i actually own this headset, when the vibration when set propperly its very subtle and works very well.. in my experience with "supposed" 5.1 headsets, the 5.1 is poor at best ( ive tried about 3 different brands) so i turned to these

the only issue i have with this set is that the mic vibrates if u have the headset vibration up too high (more than about 30-40% of max) and u try and talk.. other than that.. it really does feel like a subwoofer on your head since the vibration only simulates sound that the human ear cant hear anyway.. i almost miss it when i turn it off.....

i wish they would put these sets on display at the stores so gamers/users could try before they buy..
