    DoD:S Coming Monday

The oft-delayed Day of Defeat: Source is landing this coming Monday, at exactly 3 PM Pacific time. Valve's weekly update has some advice for both those who haven't pre-ordered DoD:S and for those who have:
Day of Defeat: Source is ready and we're set to make it available on Monday, September 26, at 3 pm PDT. For those who have not yet pre-purchased the game, the 10% pre-purchase discount offer ends when it is released.

In addition to pre-loading DoD: Source, another good thing to do in preparation of its release is to update your video card driver. With HDR and other advanced features included, DoD: Source pushes the limits of the Source engine a bit harder than other Source games. Check over at NVIDIA or ATI website for driver updates, depending on your hardware.

Day of Defeat: Source will be available as an individual purchase via Steam, as well as part of the Counter-Strike: Source retail package that will be available at stores around the same time. Half-Life 2: Silver and Gold package customers will automatically be able to play.
I'm crazy about this Day of Defeat: Source launch!

I'm pretty pumped about this. I enjoyed a few games of DoD back in the day, and with the new technology I'm sure my interest will be renewed.

Didn't you already post it was being released on monday, back on the 18th? ;p

Or do Valve need to repeat it everyday now so that it really happens.

Day Of Defeat went bland and boring three or so years ago, when they updated from 1.3b. They altered the game too much and made the mistake of listening to their idious community. The game had a perfect feel to it back then, but it has gotten worse and worse ever since, and I dont forsee it getting any better as they will probably neglect its developement now that the "Source" trend seems to be engulfing everyone.

Day Of Defeat "Source" has a little bit of eye-candy to it, but I think many know by now that, from experience with games like Counter-Strike "Source", graphics don't make a game enjoyable.

Putting the "Source" part of the names is kind of stupid, considering that the "Source" is actually part of the names, not a description of the games.

Graphics don't make a game enjoyable, but the same damn game with better graphics is better than the same game with shitty graphics.

HDR seems to be on by default... you can see it on the tiles in the B tunnel on Dust2. It might not make much of a difference when you have a nice GPU, but my ol pcx5750 chugs away at it unless I bump it down to blooming from full HDR.

Actually, it's not really the same game. Other than that, I agree.
