CAL Launches CS:CZ League

If you thought Counter-Strike: Condition Zero multiplayer was dead, think again! In a somewhat questionable move, the Cyberathlete Amateur League has launched a league for the game. The league features Open, Main, and Invite divisions.



Released quite a bit before CS: Source, Condition Zero's multiplayer is a minimal upgrade from CS 1.6. One motivation behind starting the league may be the lack of variety with CS 1.6 maps. Unfortunately, the map list for the CZ league is a bit disappointing, with only three new maps in play:

Thats rather questionable..even the old 1.6 maps have some differences in cz.



Perhaps they did this just to front on source, yo.

I don't see why anyone would be upset about CAL spreading the love.

If they were going to do this, they should have done it once CZ 1.1 came out (or was it 1.2? Whichever one had the new models). I also concur with the sentiment that if you're going to do a CZ league, take advantage of all the unique maps, even from that "lost" official map pack too.

They appear to be missing the better maps, like de_dust_cz, de_tides_cz, de_sienna_cz, cs_mansion_cz and cs_bigwhitebox_cz
