Not really too upset though, as long as the text link ads are gone.

Can you take a screenshot? I get zero ads. Remember, you have to set up "no ads" on your preferences page.

Notice the grey stripe right above the first day of news headlines? Or did you not refresh your browser? The transparency overlay looks quite nice imho.
