WARCRAFT 3 XP For CS: Source

Most people who played Counter-Strike 1.6 at one point, probably played on a Warcraft 3 CS server. For those of you who haven't, it is a widely known mod in the CS community which lets you take a number of WC3 features and play with them in Counter-Strike.

Many people wanted a remade version of this mod for Counter-Strike: Source, and luckily enough, Anthony Iacono has done exactly that. WC3 Mod for CSS is up for download as of this news piece!

From what I've seen, it hasn't changed much in comparison to the 1.6 version. Itching for a download link? This page should scratch that itch and provide you with additional information about the mod. The requirements are EventScripts, Mani Admin Plugin and NemoD Admin Plugin. The installsion seems quite easy, but if you are confused about it this thread should help you.

Glad to see the WC3 community supported with the next-gen tech. So long as server titles are clearly marked, this should be a good thing.

Now just to nip it in the bud, comments like "WC3 mod is gay" will only serve to demonstrate your young age and lack of maturity. I don't like the mod myself, but we're a diverse communitiy... let's have some respect for others, eh? :)

I'm curious if anyone who actually wants to play the mod has found out the answers to these questions yet:

Do the special effects graphics look better in the new engine? Do they provide thematic skins or models or weapons that take advantage of the new engine? (If not, are these improvements planned for the future?)

I feel I can live in satisfaction knowing that this won't ever become as popular on Source as it was in 1.6.

Case opened. There are 46 players on 5 servers there. Not bad.

It doesn't have as many skills and one fewer race than the 1.6 version, and doesn't really have any special effects yet (except for invisibility, which looks awsome). However, I played it yesterday for 4 hours until 4 AM. It is still fun.

It always made for a welcome break from endless normal CSing. Looking forward to trying it in CS:S.

WC3 mod pisses me off. Source also pisses me off. So right now I am very angry...

I expect better literacy skills in CSN news.

Seriously, 16+ year old English skills should be requirement.
