hmm...I wonder if there are only gonna be 2 models in this game just like cs:s :P

anyway, too bad I dont get dod:s for free since I bought the CE edition of HL2, kind of a rip-off, but hopefully it wont cost much.

I saw somewhere it'll be between $10 and $20 via Steam. Nothing confirmed or official however.
Hmm...that's not too bad actually, if it is official, but I highly doubt it. I expect it to be around 30 bux or (hopefully not) 40, but that's just outrageously high for a mod.

For what it's worth, yesterday I upgraded from the Bronze pack I got with my ATI coupon to the Silver pack for $10, which gets you DOD:S, so that figure seems reasonable.

That said, given all the extra effot they put into it than originally intended, $10-$20 seems like a low return on their investment. Although if it sells standalone to none-hl2/css customers for $40-50 that would make sense I suppose.

How can I upgrade from a bronze account to a silver one?

I think it was only an option for ATI coupon people, my browse games menu has always offered $10 to upgrade to silver and $30 to upgrade to gold. I just posted it as that appears to be the value that was decided upon at some time between bronze/silver, the difference of which is dod:s, hl:s and the back catalogue.

settle down there kid. preloading doesn't mean you get to play it when it's done. if you're that easily amused.. cool, I guess.

I thought thats the purpose of preloading, like in Hl2 when you preloaded the game and when it was released you can already jump into the game without having to download 3 gbs?

Right, the point of preloading is to remove the wait time you would have if you had to download the entire game when it was released. But preloading is hardly exciting.. you basically just watch bars fill up. whoo..

so do retail HL2 owners get this for free like CS:S, or do we get suckered into buying a mod?

I'm concerned with the models as mentioned somewhere above. How hard is it to make models? Why doesn't CS:S have more models? Did Gabe eat them?
