Scouting Strategy Guide

Having a bit of trouble picking up the basics of the scout in Counter-Strike? Don't worry, there is help heading your way. Viobear over at Paradox Gaming has put together a brief but informational strategy guide on the weapon. The guide covers techniques for the scout in Counter-Strike 1.6, but I'm sure the techniques can also be applied to Source gameplay.

Any good sniper will tell you, that the scout is the king of no scoping! I suggest that if you are a noob, instead of no-scoping, quick scope. This is right clicking (scoping in) and then firing your gun the second the scope appears. This will boost the accuracy slightly when the gun is fired.

Note: The server seems to down at the moment.

It was working before. Maybe they're having some server problems.

Unfortunately the source scout plays nothing like the 1.6 one.

All they did was take the 1.6 scout, and make it more like awp, it does more damage now, and you can't shoot "accurately" while moving as fast. Also the damn accuracy is off too (hence the 'accurately' above being in quotation marks), especially while no scoping. It has been nerfed like nearly every other weapon in source.

Yup, a guide on a broken website is about as useful as checkers strats.

AWP - Bad - Really slow reload

Is that really a negative? If a good awper has fired all 10 shots chances are the round is over.

AWP - Bad - Slow regeneration rate

Regeneration? Like Doctor Who? I assume he means time between shots, which given quick switching is virtually zero.



The main gist of his incredibly short argument seems to be that the scout is more accurate. Given that the awp can kill you by a shot in the hand, I'm not sure accuracy beyond hitting "something" matters.

Wow... that was usefulll... 10 lines is a strat guide now... Perhaps talking about the way accuracy was different on both guns, and how the scout will be accurate with some residual movement on it, and how the awp has no accuracy unless your feet are in cement.



Please tell more players to wait untill the enemy enters the crosshairs though, I would like more free kills.
