I'm really disappointed with this choice. Some years ago they were talking about how great steam is to get around publisers that they dislike, I think they even named EA. Let's hope this is only for HL2, and not for any future titles.

EA really is taking over the world.

Doesn't much matter to me though, so long as Valve continues to have better software support than Dice, I'll be happy.

Wow I hate EA so much. I can't wait to see how much they can fuck this up. EA needs to burn straight to the ground.

Well, last I heard Valve actually supported it's software. I mean, look at BF2. They told gamers to roll back to 1.0 (by completely reinstalling) and are coming out with a HOTFIX to a minor patch.

I don't think it's physically possible for Valve to have worse software support than DICE.

Yeah, it's what I'm saying. Valve could probably cut their updates in half and still have better support. The uninstalling and then reinstalling was just absolutely absurd. The memory leak shouldn't have even been there in the first place. Even the hotfix patch was a little off. In some instances it required more than 2GB of free HDD just to install (from posts at totalbf2.com), and upwards of 20+ minutes. I guess I lucked out when I installed my hotfix, but still.

Even still, EA is simply going to be slapping the game onto a CD and tossing it into a box.

EA Games: Challenge (the United States Government)

Every time you purchase a game from EA, an angel loses its wings, which are then picked up by Satan, who beats the angel senseless with them before casting it into the pit of eternal damnation.
