    Weekly Steam News Update

It's Saturday, and what does that mean? That's right! I'm a day late on the weekly Steam news update! I hope you can forgive me. You will forgive me, right? This week's update is all about Ritual's Sin that was recently announced to make use of the Source engine and Steam's content distribution system.
This week Ritual announced Sin Episodes, in development on Source that will be distributed via Steam. This is exciting for us here at Valve as we've always envisioned Steam being a way for other game developers to put games in front of customers, and over the next year we'd like to have a number of new games for you all to try out. You can get more information about Sin Episodes over at the official website, and we'll be including more information here as Ritual approaches release of the first episode later this year.

Great! The magnum's back! Except uh... It looks uglier than the predecessor... That and the weapon on image15.jpg seems too similar to the HL2 MP7 (maybe it's just the origins)... I wonder if Ritual will do the multiple demo thing like they did with the original Sin (the earlier builds were ridiculously bad from AI to level design, but their radio communication avatars looked better than their successor builds in my opinion). I know, I know, they're releasing episodes/expansion packs through Steam. Still, I can wish can't I? While seeing multiple builds was a fun experience, I guess the best they can do is give a demo after the episode is released like HL2 did with their HL2 demo.

And thank you azz0r for the links, VERY much appreciated.

Random thought: Imagine Garry's Mod being compatible with SiN Episodes... Royal Catfight between Jessica Cannon, Alexis Sinclaire, Alyx, and Judith Mossman anyone?

... Oh you have a life so you can't spend time making that scene? Damn it!

Let's just hope HL2:Aftermath lets us shoot friendly characters this time around, cause that Alyx bitch is probably one of the most annoying characters in any PC game.. ever.

I didn't think Alyx was badly done, personally, as far as computerized girls go. This chick, however... let's just say stuff like the visible g-string (the bare midriff and tight jacket weren't enough?) just makes it look like the developers are trying too hard to get some sex appeal helping their sales.

Then again, games like Dead or Alive have been successfully selling sex for quite some time now... Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I just hope it's not going to get to the point where my games list in Steam is just overloaded with purchase options and I can't have a clean interface to just launch CS or mods from.

This isn't free right? Will there also be mandatory process of validating your CD key over Steam?

I'm not sure if there even will be CDs for this one... interesting point though.
