Wow! Such a surge of activity at this site of late. I know, it probably caught you off guard, you were confused, stumbling around, and wondering which way was up. Just when you finally get things figured out, we go ahead and throw a new edition of Newsbits your way. So sit back, relax, and enjoy.

• The SourceMod crew have been hard at work on their latest creation. They have recently released Metamod: Source to the public. Metamod: Source is an API manager that sits between the engine and the mod that allows for greater admin functionality.
  
  
  
  
• INpact_Team has recently released a HUD and menu customization program for CS: Source. With this program the user is able to drag and drop their HUD elements to their liking.
  
  
  
  
• HLstatsX has recently been updated with more functionality. In the latest version, there are now live web page statistics and in-game queries.
  
  
  
  
• If you play CS: Source and you happen to use Konfabulator for your desktop, you may be interested in CSGeiger (pic). The widget sits on your desktop and displays the number of players in a server of your choice at any given time.
  
  
  
  
• The MapCentral Network: Open Source Installer has recently been announced. The program takes up where the CSMap Central Map Installer left off. It allows a user to quickly and automatically download and install maps from a central database, and will feature support for a number of games.

Well, that seems to about wrap things up for this latest edition of Newsbits. I must now return to the box in which Rizzuh keeps all of his staff members. It's so cold.

I can't play with my hud changed. I spent some time moving things around just like I *thought* I would like them, but when I played I was like "What the hell. Where is everything?".



I'm too used to glancing at memorized parts of the screen to change it up too much. I like being able to change the font, though...



I'm also looking forward to that Map distrobution program.

There are some bigger mods out, like plan of attack and ctf for hl2

It's actually a mod for HL2DM but I think it's the best one out there right now. Kinda buggy, but 2.0 comes out soon and brings new features and stable gameplay.



The screenshots on that page are decent, but don't show the game in action or the genius forts people create.

Konfabulator is a program that creates widgets. A widget is like a little program (a script really) that runs on your desktop. You could make a widget do different things from weather to system performance specs. It's kinda hard to explain. Just go to the Konfabulator website.

the mani plugin for counter strike source is a bs plugin... its suspose to play quake sounds and keep rank but actually it doesnt really do anything. (as in work) according to their forums alot of users are having probs but no admins (dev team) have responded on those questions.



i hate downloading shit that doesnt work... makes me think its a hack virus bs program.



hlstatsx seems solid but there is no easy simple click here to install feature and have stats based on files and not web sites.

so yet another crappy download.
