    Small CS:S Update

Update: All but the de_inferno update have been rolled back until next week. This rollback is due to an unexplained hang bug that resulted from this update.

Word of a relatively minor Counter-Strike: Source update has been posted on the Steam Powered website. This update follows last week's addition of Inferno and Port to CS:S. Here's what's new in this update:
      Counter-Strike: Source

    • Updated de_inferno

    • Made the radio menu more responsive

    • When bullets hit grates and chain-link fences they play the appropriate effects

    • Bots will not join or leave during the round when bot_quota_mode is "match" or "fill"

    • Improved bot ladder usage

    • Bullet decals are now scaled based on distance, to make them more visible at long range

    • Fixed bots filling a server and preventing players from joining after round change

      Source Engine

    • Fixed the compressed file mode of sv_downloadurl only downloading one file at a time
No word on what the Inferno changes are at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they recompiled inferno (correctly this time). It should be less laggy for everybody.

There do seem to be some problems with port, though (see steampowered forums).

I think the bullet improvements was a result of öne of the posts I read at the steampowered.com, VALVe do listen :O

this update makes clients and servers crash like mad, argh! Alfred from Valve says they'll be rolling back the binary to the last version until they find out what's going on, so hopefully that's released quickly.

Seems to only happen on Mani Mod servers from what I've heard.

Aren't they supposed to test for this sorta stuff before the update is released?

Test third party applications that aren't officially supported?

Thank god! It's very hard to control reoil when you can't see where your bullets are going

The uber pauses seem to be not as bad since they added inferno, but they still happen. Though I could blame that on my 1.8ghz p4

Actually it isnt just with mods, that was just someones guess. 9 out 10 of my friends were having all sorts of problems, game crashes, extreme lag, glitchyness, weird console "fragment 1/10" errors.

I love valve for thier continued support to thier customers, but you'd think they would have learned a lesson to test thier updates(being as this isnt the first time this has happpened) before they release them, maybe they cant?

It was a problem with the servers that used the hook to get menus to pop up with the old style menus for admin plugins.
