ERROR: unable to open file Steam.dll for writing (errno = 13)

Try deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file in your Steam directory. Hmm, I can't get the HiDef pack link to work. I tried both IE6 and FireFox, but Steam is doing nothing. And yes, Steam is opened.

Try starting HL1, Op4, or Blue Shift. It'll download then.

damn, i picked the wrong time to purchase hl2, css, etc. (silver pack) downloading is slow as shit right now!

Well it works in BS, haven't tried regular HL1, but I am playing HL:S and they weren't added there......why not? Doesn't make sense that they wouldn't throw it in HL:S as well.

Is enabling/disabling random content by clicking on a link in explorer user friendly ? It works, but there should be at least a menu for this in Steam. Also, this feature should be added for CZ owners to get more high-def stuff to 1.6 (or remove it).

no you dont understand srry bad on my part... i meant when i start steam and after it is done downloading the update it comes up with the error like you know before any menus can come up yet.
