why the hell do i keep hearing this bullshit? Counter strike or any other fucking Computer game will never be a damn sport that's all there is to it. If you are in Highschool and consider Counter strike is a sport go join Football and go through one day of practice thats all and youll see the difference between playing counter strike or any other computer game and being in a sport.

There's a difference, but you're confusing "sport" with a physically demanding activity. That's not what a sport is. Jock.

Is CS a sport in the same sense that football is? No. But is CS a sport by definition? Yes.Comment

Do you play CS with your mind? "Physical activity" doesn't denote a physically demanding activity, just a physical activity.Comment

I'm not a jock, infact, I'm far from one. But I can assure you, sports only apply to activites that demand physical endurace from the person playing the activity. With out any physical input, the activity is simply a game, not any less different than playing a boardgame.

Trust me, if people played Candyland obssesively and there were clans and such and tournaments for these clans, then we would probably term the game as being a sport.Comment

You are a idiot you know that entro? The reason you are an idiot is because by your definition anytime you move any part of your body thats considered a sport.
Definition of sport: An activity involving physical EXERTION and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
Definition of exertion:The act or an instance of exerting, especially a STRENOUS EFFORT.
Definition of Strenous:Requiring great effort, energy, or exertion: a
strenuous task.
I believe I have proved my point with all these definitions.Comment

I already gave you the definition for 'sport', and physically strenuous or not, there is physical movement in CS. No, not everytime we move could be considered a sport, as a sport is a game governed by rules, usually played competitively. CS fits that definition just fine. So does chess, but you're not telling me chess isn't a sport.
What about darts? I'm sure I could be a pro dart thrower if I had enough practice/training/whatever, I wouldn't need to workout or anything, right? Hunting is a sport, yet doesn't require physically strenuous activity. Croquet? Billiards? All of these are sports. Why are you saying CS can't be a sport if those can be?
Try not to be an angry douche bag.Josh29 wrote..
Chess is a board game. Chess is also a sport, so how can you assure me that an activity can only be a sport if it demands physical endurance?

Okay. So it'd be a stupid sport that would get made fun of alot. It'd still be a sport, what's your point?
Just because it's not a bunch of dudes battling each other over a ball doesn't mean it's not a sport.Comment
