We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
haha good i hope xfire dies out... noobs... sick of installing cd's that ask to install xfire... then get spyware/adware/popups galore.
mirc32, aim (aol instant messanger), msn messanger, or ventrilo is all you need to talk with buds and know when some one is on.
programs like stupid xfire and that one site where you can look up people on cs -- was stupid as hell, and helping ass holes follow users into servers just to hack and/or annoy being bitches. - point is you cant escape em enless a/an admin bans. stalkers are gay as fuck and force you to change name for hours if not days before the pricks forget who their stalking.
if people become buddies then they will use steam friends list, or some other prog listed above... if their not friends then why the fuck look up a random player and join them? also, games have their own pinging & server filtering systems. dont need extra bs progs or sites like xfire and gametiger giving us more trouble then pleasure.
=P
No one logs on MSN to contact someone for a match, what if AIM is down, steam friends list never works and some people dont have mics. Just because you dont like x-fire, doesnt mean it sucks, its actually a good prog to immediately follow a friend into a game, or talk to them from game-2-game, its also nice to meet random gamers that you may not get in touch with in real life..It also shows you how much you play of each game, for those that like that statistic, and it was not made for people to stalk you, nor have I ever heard of that.. For someone to do that they have to be your friend, or friend of a friend, so its not entirely random.. You nubcake! =D
I think you guys are misunderstanding what yahoo is claiming. Any coding you do while under the employ of a company, is pretty much intellectual property of that company. In the same way, if you take out a patent while you are employed by that company, then that patent actually belongs to that company (this is something you agree to when you sign all the paperwork when you start working for a company). So lets say you are a web programmer for a company, and you have a personal website that you work on sometimes while at work, the company you work for actually own intellectual rights to it!
So these guys created some code that they decided to patent, WHILE working for yahoo, which means that Yahoo owns the patent. At least this is how I am understanding it according to the various news articles about this.
and btw, I don't support what yahoo is doing...seems exploitative to me...typical though.

Yep, MSN is just great if you want to follow someone in game...oh wait, you can't see if there in game, and if you message them and they are, they tend to reply with "You just got me killed". If friends actually worked, xfire would be pointless for CS. But it tends to be down most of the time, so xfire is a good substiture.
Also, you seem to like the idea of friends for CS, since you suggest using it instead of xfire. This just in...not everyone plays CS, and not every game has an application like friends. Xfire is almost the exact same as friends, but for near every single multiplayer game out there.

It all depends on the contract. When I build for MUDS I tell them by letting me build I have ownership over my work. If I make an area of the MUD I have the right to recreate it. If this ex-yahoo employee signed a contract wether or not yahoo can sue depends on the terms and conditions of the contract.
I support X-Fire. Maybe yahoo should try teaming up with X-Fire instead of sueing?
aim is never down, sending an ip and logging and playing takes 2 secs.
and if you get pop ups when some one messages you then your noob for not turning them off in options. - you instead get beeps -
oh ya and if u dont know how to use away messages to tell your buds your gaming and the ip to your game then your noob as well.
and yes hackers will stalk users that call them hackers in game. you then leave server to play else where, but the hacker will just look you up from your name on xfire or gametiger web site and follow you from server to server. - so thus you have to change your name to avoid em. thus gives me good enough reason not to use lame progs like xfire. - just lets gay children follow you and annoy you, especially if your apart of a popular pub clan, you basically cant pub ever.
people without mics... rofl. and ventrilo doesnt eat bandwidth or cpu usage like xfire, aim, mirc. so overall ventrilo is the best prog. better even then teamspeak. - i know cuz i used my server to monitor the band width and cpu free usage while using those progs.
think about it... xfire is constantly scanning and eating bandwidth and cpu usage - so if you wanna talk about poor people without mics then think about how much it would suck for those poor bastards in having a prog run the the background eating their bandwidth and cpu usage - of their so called 56k connection and p4 1.5ghz crap comps. (not like their gonna buy a good comp without a mic)
oh ya, and ventrilo can make a shitty 5 bucks mic sound like a 30 bucks mic. so with that said, im off to go play world of warcraft with my ventrilo buds.
ps. if your a so called poor ass bastard that doesnt have a mic... dont use xfire, use mirc32 or aim. less stressful on your poor shitty comps. makes more sense. hell i know you dont have to be poor to own a mic... perhaps your a lazy bastard which would make one also infer that your to lazy to upgrade comp... so thus in essence im still correct on the matter of you having a shitty comp with no mic.
