    Prodigy Overview

E-Sports Entertainment Association's Moses from the professional American team, TEC, has reviewed every nook and cranny of the Counter-Strike: Source port of the infamous de_prodigy. Additionally, helpful screenshots have been coupled with the writeups of each area as a compliment of sorts.
You either love it or you hate it. Prodigy has been around for ages, but that didn't stop CAL and CPL from taking it out of the map rotation due to unbalanced sides. However, with Source being the way it is you might find that it is more balanced. This might very well be one of the better competitions maps ported for Source.
This is certainly a refreshing change to read from the perspective of an experienced player.

For future refrence, E-Sports Entertainment Association, let someone with a half decent video card review the maps. Those are the worst looking screens I've ever seen.

I mean really, wtf is this? It's a good read and everything but for crying out loud if you're going to sport screenshots at least ask someone with a good computer to take them for you.

                  Right whatever.

Straight out I can tell he didn't look too hard into the map.

                  1. The vent at CT spawn has that lid that really provide cover for those in the vent. Getting a nade angled in the vent to go to the corner is tougher now.

                  2. Vent exit at the back bombsite has a bad angle to throw nades and flashed now. These go up through those fans and outside the maps boundaries rendering them ineffective.

                  3. Didn't see mention of how the retracted blastdoors at the end of the long hall and 'Prep Room' can also catch nades and flashes on errant throws causing one hell of a misfire for a team

Still find it interesting that there is a small crack to shoot through on this map, yet before Source the notable aztec crack was removed. Some consistency.

meh, I would expect screenshots of that quality, if they're playing in cal-i like moses then they probably care more about consistent fram rates than quality.

I'm happy for him he like how the map looks, but it would even look alot better if he used high detail settings instead of everything on low.. His screenshots look like sh*t now, all textures are completly washed out.. Sorry..

I understand they want high fps when playing, but for such an online article, at least make good looking screenies.. Thxs..

This logic would work if he took these screenshots during a Cal-I match, but since he obviously didn't, it doesn't.

Its good how the review talks about how source has turned the map into a more competitive map (Well he stats it anyway). More people need to start looking at how css is different from cs so maps that weren't competitive in cs can now be turned into competitive maps in css.

He stats it, but I doubt it.. The times I played the CS:S prodigy I had the feeling it was even more unbalanced towards CT-side.. But that's public play, in a match it might be totally different.. The layout didn't change though, and maps with only 2 routes usually are bad match maps, so.. Time will tell..
