Sometimes models are interesting enough to add to the archives, but not quite unique or special enough to become the Skin of the Day. Luckily these unfortunate and overlooked models won't fall through the cracks, thanks to another CSN Skins update. It's not a matter of not having the desire. It's more a combination of a few factors which are delaying this from happening. Mainly, there aren't a whole ton of good custom CS:S skins out there yet (thus making it difficult for us to maintain a "Skin of the Day," and on top of that, there isn't a single CS:S skin I've found that meets our current reviewing standard of including working p&w models.

The whole process of creating CS:S models has been very badly hindered by not only what seems like a lack of active support, but certain measures that almost seem aimed at making life that much more difficult for custom modelers. I mean, seriously, model bounds checking for v_ models? Trying to get some extra info to help with various other aspects has been all but a black hole of requests. In general I like the guys at VALVe, but sometimes I find myself quite frustrated by the "hey, we'll ask favors from you, but won't return any" attitude that myself and others have faced.
So yeah, that's basically what's going on in that arena. CS:S is the big new thing in the evolution of CS, so don't worry about whether we're supporting it or not. It's just a matter of figuring out how best to serve the CS:S community and then setting the elements up. Just don't bug us for a date, eh?
For the moment, look here for a collection of CS:S skins you can try, though you won't have reviews and such to judge them by.Comment

Even if you don't get reviews for them, a lot of these are top notch quality because our very own bullet head, among others, will only spend their time converting the very best models. Also, check at the custom anims for source. They are very sexy.
As far as these go, the shells aint half bad and there are plenty of player models. Oh well, we still have SoTD to keep you guys going.
The whole reason we mass release lower scoring models is because they should be looked at but just dont meet the quality of SoTD models. For example, if we released like 10 extremely awesome models, we would be strapped with nothing to review for the next month as well. Also, each skin probably wouldnt get the attention it deserves.
