Amped eSports continues their series of articles comparing CAL maps from Counter-Strike 1.6 to the overhauled Counter-Strike: Source versions. For this time around, the well known de_aztec has been placed under the microscope.
Aztec, the map itself, has been totally redesigned and for the better. I think it has been redesigned to make it less of a pub map and more like a map for competitive play with the addition of spots of land in the water and the inability to use stop sound to clear the ambient noise. But in my opinion, this map still doesn't belong in competitive rotation. In fact, the last time and about the only time a major tournament used aztec was at this past WCG and that was because they used Condition Zero as the tournament game.Check out this thorough comparison of the two different versions of de_aztec.
