It updated and now it won't show any Steam windows and it's not in the tool bar, yet when I try to start it up it says there is already a copy of Steam running.

Contrary to what the name would denote.. Face Poser is actually a multilingule robot who can aid your mouse and keyboard activities and function as a scanner, printer, fax, shredder, Shredder (the Ninja Turtles kind), and portable American flag so that you can show your mindless nationalism to all the other citizens! reinstalled, deleted folders, validated shit... still got it... obviously its valve and their messed up updates... sigh.



now getting strange lag spikes... jeez if its not one thing its the other...

But source wasnt updated, so it must be something youve done. Try verifying all your cache files (can take a while) if that doesnt work, try deleting clientregistry.blob. If that doesn't work either, re-download source :)

I think he is refering to the previous update to last. I to, also have the spinning error boxes on Stress Test. Brought about by the previous "prodigy" steam update. I think he maybe was hoping this update would fix it.



It's also certainly something VALVE has done, blaming the user is just ignorant. When plenty of people are reporting this (minor?) issue in the stress test.
