Stagger Lee wrote..That's probably because most of the maps simply suck. A few maps play very well, so naturally, people will want to play them. Who goes into a pub and looks for a tactical game? I go into pubs so I can kill 10+ people a round. That's fun. Getting lost in a giant map looking for some ass who could be behind any of the 100 randomly placed boxes and then getting killed by him, even though he's crappy and carrying a P90.. just sucks.
Assault is truly a challenge for CT's. That is exactly why it is NOT a noob map. It takes a good player to wipe out the T's in that one. Assault UPC evens it out a bit more but it's not a "official" map.
Prodigy is a terrific choice for Source as it is still a great 1.6 and CZ map.
The only people who don't like Prodigy, Assault, Backalley, Piranesi, Nuke and so many other great maps are the ones who still think Dust is fun. "This map blows dude...Let's play Dust!". Sooooo sick of noobs who hate good maps and don't even try new ones.
I can't tell you how many times a server goes into Vostok or Corruption and some idiot says "I've never seen this map before".
All because all he plays is Dust and Aztec.
Rememeber the old days where we all got excited just because Valve would release a couple of new maps and we played the shit out of them just because it was new and different? Nowadays, peeps are fine just playing the same 4 maps over and over and over and over and.....
