    SK.swe Will Not Attend CPL

GotFrag? reports that SK-Gaming, one of the most prominent gaming teams in the world, will not be present for the upcoming 2004 Cyberathlete Extreme Winter Championships held at Dallas, Texas. Reason for absence is as follows according to Cyberathlete Professional League Commissioner Justin Blanchard:
"SK.swe chose to not participate in the winter CPL event in order to provide their German division an opportunity to gain some experience and see what they can do," said Blanchard.
Thus, the German division of SK-Gaming, SK.de, will be in attendance to compete in this year's Winter CPL in favor of SK.swe. SK-Gaming will unveil an official statement elaborating on the reason for SK.swe's absence. In the meantime, click here for the current full scoop.

I really did not expect this. It's nice how they gave their other division a try though.

Its probably not to give their underdog division a go, more likely something has come up for one or more of the swe players and itd be too awkard to draft in a replacement this close to the tournament.

please dont flame me, but in my opinion, i think they just dont think that sk.swe is ready, and are scared they may lose again, and dont want to face that, so they practice a bit, until next CPL..that is just my thoughts though, gl sk.de

#4 sums up my thoughts pretty well, #8 not so much.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions until SK.swe issues a statement themselves, and I would suggest you all do the same.

I hope this gives the US teams a chance to finally get up there and take a 1st place. This should give them a big confidence boost cuz basically the number 1 team is out and I dont know how ood the garman team is.
