New version of Xfire Released

Xfire, a popular multi-game browser and chat utility, has reached version 1.28 yesterday. The new version boasts a handful of choice additions and added support for a number of games.

• Some internal changes with miniprofiles to reduce load on our servers... keep using 'em like crazy!
  
  
• Added configuration of the key to bring up Xfire in game--go to Tools menu, Options, Display tab.
  
  
• Added per-game configuration of Xfire in game through the Xfire in game menus. Press Scroll Lock + X in game, then hit F2 to go to the main menu and follow the configuration from there. You can move and resize the main window and alert windows and adjust their opacity.
  
  
• Added support for Xfire in game in StarCraft.
  
  
• Added support for Axis & Allies, The Simpsons Hit & Run, ShellShock Nam67, Deus Ex Invisible War, Kingpin Life of Crime, EverQuest 2, Need For Speed Underground 2, FIFA Soccer 2005, NBA Live 2005, Flight Simulator 2004, Half-Life 2, Half-Life Source.

I thought Xfire was only text chat, not voice chat.

it is text based but your Ventrilo and Team Speak servers will appear next to your name (if you are in one), just like your game server IP will.

Heh, indeed. :P The obvious downside is that everyone has Friends, even if it doesn't work properly, where as a relatively small portion of the CS community has Xfire.
