More HL2 Action!

HL2 while no doubt a fantastic game was a bit of a dissappointment for me. The removal of the hydra, less interactivity with the gravity gun, removal of OCIW, removal of shooting via zoom, entire sections removed from the game...the list goes on. Plus it was a hell of a lot shorter than Half-Life.



Just voicing my opinion, not a flame :)

I feel as though the game is lacking, choppy, and straight up boring. The sound isn't 5.1, but rather 2.1 when using digital outs and the sound skips a ton. physics are the same as all new games considering it's nothing more than Havok 2.0 engine. Still feels as though the game needs to be in beta.



Only plus side to the game is waiting for mods to be made and throwing crap at the NPCs.

The game is plain awesome, i only have some questions:



1 How did dr Breen started up the combine so suddenly and why?

2 How did Gordon suddenly got in the train???

3 And who is G-man actually, why do u always see him???

i do not see a diiferrence from hl:source or hl1 only some of the guns look the slightest bit better

my sound was in 5.1 without a doubt.. sounded amazing, i've never had a game quite so emmersive.. the echoes and stuff were extremely realistic, helped pull me into the game so much, just hearing the gunships and stuff buzzing around my room was enough, but lobbin nades at Combies hearing they yell ":Bleep: Grenade! :Bleep:" then hearing it go off... and it echo from the other side of the room was just... well amazing is the only real word for it

hearing the ping ping ping as the gunships shot the grates next to my ear makes me jump everytime



i don't think that alyx or barney die

i guess we won't find out until HL3

damn i want it so bad already



on a side note

i love the part that GMAN plays in the game.

haha lucky. i only got headphones but urs sounds awesome. i have such a bad ear infection i can hear my heartbeat in my ear.

i played through the training course in half life source.



it seems that the explosions and the water effects are taken directly from the source engine. the textures *seem* to be detail textures now... but i could be wrong?



the guns have a few shiny effects now, but that is all i think...

Not sure kerosine, from what i see the textures are straight up those from HL1. Maybe your playing with AF on or something. Again a bit of a dissapointment, I expected a little more than that for the extra money for silver :/

another thing i forgot to mention about the sounds was the ricochet and the whizzing as they fly past ur head... VERY nicely done can hear where they came from and hear it fly past ya... sounds so real... love it



hmmm i think they should remove all three of those screen shots... none of them happen.. and the combine never look like that.. and neither does elie vance (wrong spelling i didnt have captions on)

speaking of captions there was a part wherei was fighting in the city bit with the resistance fighters and one of the women goes " You smell that?... thats freedom!" and another one replied

"i didn't need to know that" or somthing similar lol i was laughing alot.. farting characters! lol!!

how demanding is the game compared to far cry and doom 3? i have a pretty crappy computer, so i dont want to go out and buy the game only to figure out that i play at 5 fps on the lowest possible settings. (its a pentium 3, 512 ram, radeon 9600) sounds pretty awesome!

kamikazecow ... i could run full options on high w/ a 2400 athalon xp .. 512 pc-2700 ram (i know ... sad) and a 9800 pro 128mb card (saving grace)



i think the game can run on anything man honestly .... its amazing how well it runs .. normally when i play games at home they arent as crisp as when i play at my lan center but w/ this game ... its basically just as awesome ... i think you would be able to run the game w/ at least medium to low options ... if i can run it on high and not worry about lag during firefights (like i did in farcry 2) then i bet you will have little to no problems playing ... GET THE GAME FOO!!!
