More HL2 Action!

heh...didn't wanna read any of the above posts for fear of seeing even a smidget of a hint of a spoiler but let me just say that this game rocks my boxers. last night i played for 5 hours straight, no bathroom breaks, until the wee hours of 3 in the morning [crack a dawnin' and i was yawnin']. i fell into that vicious cycle of "one more round, one last checkpoint, holy f-ing scheissbag, a new gun!" resulting in yet another memorable hour of time spent in front of my computer.



PLUS i had to get up for work at 6:30am.

I have 2 thing on my mind right now after beating the game..

who is it the Dr. Breen is talking to when you and alyx come upp with the elevator and what happens to Dr breen and the rest of the ppl do the hole city 17 die? Barney and all the others?

a shame.. i wanna have them back in hl3..

damn some people are like nazi around here, what, you can't enjoy your game if there is a possibility someone isn't PLAYING IT RIGHT OMGZ. Sheesh, if he wants to ruin it by cheating then by all means, but don't waste space by flaming him, its annoying. What a waste of a few paragraphs, I mean its not like your making an educational announcement. So I suggest that as long as it has no bearing on you, just remember that someone cheating in singleplayer HAS NO F-CKING BEARING ON YOU! (and I hope to god you were being sarcastic, because if not you DO need to readdress your priorities.)

Anyways, I thought that green thing at the end looked a lot like that ugly final boss from HL. I wish I could have come in that portal to kick breen's p*ssy *ss myself, the bastard selling out to the combine or so it seems.

Sneaky, I cant believe you cheated. Jesus, the game just came out, and you cant even make one run through the game without cheating. Sure, with god mode on, you live longer. That was a brilliant statement. Wow, you killed a guard with a crowbar. Give me a moment while I contact CNN.



The game is intense and very real. Something cheats will hinder and not allow you to experience. The music is really well done as well. The puzzles, some are easy, and some are wicked hard. But overall, when you figure out a puzzle on your own, or you escape a gun fight without cheating its rewarding. You feel like you accomplished something. When you cheat ... you don't even gain bragging rights.

He has the right to talk about cheats. he has the right to brag about them, and then complain about the game.

ok 1 - cheats = gay

I'll spoiler the next bit to be fair on other expectations

2 where the hell is that blue liquid creature?, the scene in the house with the combine and the radiator and the drinks machine? and the making buildings blow up to kill them and stuff and the bit with the strider under the bridge? were they all cut from it because they were just "proof of concept? or did i just miss it?..

3 - there's a sickening satisfaction to grabbing a combine by the head and swinging him around and slamming him into walls.. the sound is so real and emmersive?! it's like "YEA DID THAT HURT BITCH?!" .. awesome.. i think the unpimped grav gun shud pick up dead bodies too.. wud have made things a little interesting....

4 also wheres the scene where ur in the lab and u hear scanners and stuff, and then alyx gives u the gun? or was that also proof of concept? if so what a waste of a gud dialogue

5 no final mega boss either



hmm i think one of the hardest parts was the prison cell bit



i think the realistic sound effect such as echoes, and EAX style stuff really finishes things off.. just the way the strider gun sounds at distance an while ur gettin ur ass kicked by it.. and just wow.. fire the Mp7 and u hear it echo.. it's amazing.. adds alot to the experience :)

has anyone played half life source yet? is it any gud?! i want it?!!? any screenies yet? from u silver boi's cmon what's it like?!

Pfft you do indeed have the right to take up space wasting your breath, but there is not a really good reason to retort when he is not insulting you or referring to you in ANY FUCKING WAY. And furthermore, I never said that you did not have a right to whine about what someone said, but really you can just keep the comments to HL2 and not how other people play it. Maybe its just a pet peeve, but its really annoying when someone complains about the most trivial things.

Can you say hypocrite ? First off princess, I'm not waisting breath, as I'm not talking. Second off, how about you just skip post that bother you, as complaining about our posts ... once again ... makes you hypocritical. Second off, in all my posts, I have talked about Hl2 and why I like it, and you have not. You have been the accuser, not I. And when I engage in debate with someone, it isn't because they insulted me. He did not, nor did I ever say he did. Once again, that was you. Perhaps you should sit this one out.



HL2 owns. Half life 2 proves that when a team takes as much needed time to develop a game as needed, good things happen. Hats off to Valve.

wow. that is so not what i meant.



i meant it would have been cool if you had more time to develop the relationship with the character. valve said they wanted you to feel emotionally connected with characters. i don't know if any of you ever played final fantasy 7 and 8, but they did a VERY good job with the whole emotional thing. alyx's character had that potential, but i haven't seen much of it so far (i'm in the Entrapment chapter.)



Who wants to bet that the first HL2 expansion is Alyx and Dog? And they've GOT to do something w/ Barney.

I just want to reiterate how absurd it is that people who bought retail, instead of merely saving it into an account as was done before, it also requires the CD to be in all the time. This is very annoying, and I shouldn't have to download some "***** crack" just to play the game through steam. This completely negates the whole point of steam and is really stupid of them to do.

or just delete the hl2 application and re download from steam...
