Wow what a freaking crackdown in the first 25ish posts...
Anyways, I finished up Half-life 2 and I must say,the last 2 chapters with the super gravity gun are the most entertaining, its like bowling, just grab one and shoot him at like 5-6 of them, lol. I just wish it didn't leave the story so vague at the end there, I want to see the story wrapped up in my life time. I would kill to know what the story behind the g-man is from the valve PoV.

oops messed up the spoiler tag first time around, doh.Comment

That would mean you needed 640 megs to load a level. That's simply a ridiculous claim about something you have no real knowledge about.
64 is low, that's probably video RAM.
It takes AT LEAST 10 times that to load a level.Sneaky wrote..
Wait, there was no "wow" factor while using god mode?!? Who would have thought?!?

I'm not disappointed but it didn't have the "wow" factor I was looking for.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.Comment

i just finished the game too... What are those green things crawling around when your trapped in the transport pod thing? also the ending just totally leaves you hanging, which is sad cause it takes so long for these games to be made and put out that i probably wont be much interested in videogames when im 40. it was an excellent game and deserves every game award possible, but who is breen talking to right before he goes on the elevator to the portal and its like a big green thing... im excited yet a little baffled as to why the game ended the way it did... but eh it had to end someway

Third GMan found
When you get to the underground railway outpost (first one you encounter with the friendly ailen), you will see a man that wasn't looking at you. Quickly search for a TV (on the desk near the ailen) and you'll see G-Man on it. It's really fast, a glismps so be quick :)
Alyx died. Gordon never dies.
I loved the pimped-up Zero Gravity Gun. So r0x0r...
It's a great game indeed. Except it gets a little repetitive after a while..Comment

Why on earth would anyone be proud of racing through to the finish in a matter of hours? After waiting so long for its release and anticipating with relish the wonders in store, you just piss the whole experience away in a pointless rush to the end.
What are you gonna do now that you've blown your load so prematurely? What ever happened to taking the time to fully appreciate the expansive world you've been presented with instead of just making a mad dash to the end of it?
Doom 3 was one thing. It was so stupid, repetitive, unimaginative and contrived that just getting it over with was more motivating than seeing how many more underlit corridors you could be dragged through by the ring in your nose.
Half-Life 2, like its predecessor, is a game to be experienced and savored. Beating it should be an incidental secondary goal.
Or so the Germans would have us believe . . .Comment

HL2 is awesome i love it, what i dont love is ppl that come on here and just post the ending to the game. whats the point? even if u do use the spoiler tag youre achieving nothing.
Also i just read all the comments on this topic - and this one guy pissed me off completely, i actually want to rip his face off for being such a complete twatSneaky wrote..
You absolute dickhead. the game will have no "wow" factor if u just cheat all the way through. theres just no point playing such an amazing game, cheating, and then claming its not that good. F*** off - i hope u enjoyed ur wasted £40 or so.
I finished it and it was ok. It was really easy too especially when you know 3 useful commands.

I guess with all the hype my expectations were set too high, I'm not disappointed but it didn't have the "wow" factor I was looking for.

That be really cool if they add a few more chapters after you finish the game, like all you would do is just run around city 17 or other cities and help the civilian resistance against the Combines.. Bleh, HL2 = the best game.. Although you should be able to roam around free at the end.. I still haven't beat it, im like homer simpson nibbling on the sausage..Comment

Terrific Game. Just started it at about 10:00 last night and played til 12:00. Eye-popping is the word here. I felt like I was trapped inside a Sci-Fi movie. I probably wasted my first hour just playing with the physics like throwing soda cans at guards to see if they would react. They did. Ouch. I liked Doom3...for about a hour just because it was pretty, then I realized it was just a a haunted house with something saying "Boo" in every room. Got old. In HL2, it felt more like I really was being hunted down in a city I didn't know. When I finally got killed by a exploding barrel in the first zombie scene, I left to go look at CS:S and finally see Office and Italy I've heard so much about. To all naysayers about Source....wrong.
I'm pretty good in CS and CZ and when playing just as I do in those games, I went 20-6 in my first trip in Office. There is nothing wrong with the hitboxes or the guns.
Great job on both efforts, Valve. It was worth the wait for you to get it "right" before release.
To any who don't agree, I have no idea what it is you were looking for. To those who don't have this yet, you're missing out.Comment

You have to find the other 2 batteries to power the gate
I am stuck on Sandtraps...when I need to open the "garage" via the electric wire.
What do I do?
People say HL2 is too easy.. Well, I play on normal, and I guess it's a bit easy yes, but when I got to the end of Sandtraps, that was hard with the 2 airships to get rid off, I died several times there.. I wonder how many people that play on hard will get thru there without dying.. My guess is not much..

Well I didn't say I cheated all the way through. The only difference with using godmode occassionally is you don't die as much. Plus it was funny using the crossbar to kill combine although I did use all the weapons including the rocket launcher. I didn't say it's wasn't that good. I just said there was nothing "over the top".

I didn't buy HL2 for the single player anyhow. CS:S has much more replay value plus other mods. I only played the orginal HL SP maybe 2 or 3 times anyhow. So it wasn't a waste and I can always replay it on hard if I want a challenge. Big deal. Doesn't change the game.
I didn't ask you to agree with my opinion so it if bothers you suck it! We all aren't fanboys like you. Don't flame me because my view doesn't agree with yours. Just state your opinion of the game and move on. Personal attacks doesn't make your opinion more valid.Comment

And I seriously doubt you could beat ANY game on hard, or even medium for that matter.Comment
