In my opinion, Half-Life 2 isnt that good. I'm not really having that much fun. This kind of makes me regret spending 100 on the gold package.



Also I dont want any flames, its just my opinion.

dude i dunno. From what i've read from hl2fallout forums, some guys are having problems running hl2 b/c it kept on crashing. It seems that hl:s might be a cause of the problem. Then again, you ran hl2 w/o errors. Not to discourage you or anything, just passing the word along... (this does not come from a reliable source)

Half-Life 2 had the same affect Doom 3 had on me. You first start playing it, and the graphics and atmosphere pull you in. Then you play it for nearly 3 hours, and you realise it isn't that great.



Don't get me wrong, Half-Life 2 is good, but I don't think it lives up to all the hype.

I'm stuck, maybe somebody can help me out here (not really spoilers, but to be on the safe side): Right after the room full of manhacks and explosive barrels, I went down the ladder under the floor and stacked some barrels to get into the red-lighted pipe. I'm stuck in the following room. I broke the planks and crates under the water to release the three floating platforms, but I can't figure out what to do. I'm pretty sure the water level has to rise somehow, but shooting the pipes and whatnot didn't work. Anybody get past that who would like to share how they got through? Chances are, I'll figure it out myself anyway, long before I come back here to check for any responses, but thanks anyway in advance.

you have to go back and open a valve, do some monkey jumps. i can't exactly remember where the valve is,but you have to jump down to it and there is a fence in the room and i think you can see the room you are talking about with the boards you broke

poor me...i dont want to buy it over steam and im in school and i dont know where i can buy hl2 gold in english (i live in switzerland)...and tomorrow im off for four days!!!! nooo.... ^_^ anyways back to class

Maybe in a year or two I'll get to play HL2. That'll be fun.
