Half-Life 2 Prima Books Release on Friday

Valve has released a post on SteamPowered.com saying that Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar and The Half-Life 2 Official Game Guide, both published by Prima, will hit shelves this Friday, November 12.
Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar is a 288-page, hard-bound publication that chronicles the origins of Valve, development of Valve's first games, and covers the making of Half-Life 2 in great detail with hundreds of exclusive images, interviews and more.

The Half-Life 2 Official Game Guide, a 320-page full-color guide covering the most anticipated PC game of all time, features full-color maps, weapons details, bestiary tactics, hidden game elements, and more.
I know I'll be picking up the former, if not both, on Friday and anyone as obsessed as I am should consider doing the same. Click for the post.

I saw one guy on the HLFallout forums that already got his. I'd say you'll probably get it before HL2 is released, but that's just my guess.

And everything in the first book is available on the net, the origin of half-life is at gamespot.com and if you can't find info on HL2 than you are too stupid to use electricity, you might hurt someone.
You're really, really wrong. I'll leave it at that.

I have to agree with what the guy above said...at least for the strategy guide- I guarantee that there will be a strategy guide up by the first day it is released. As for the first book about Valve, I can at least understand people buying that. But I will definately not be getting either of the them.

It looks good to get but... I am probably going to read it once in my entire life and forget about it. But then if its not too expensive I might get it.

Yea, thats pretty obvious to the rest of the world after the way the election went... It cracks me up when I look at the demographics of who voted for Bush vs. who voted for Kerry.

strategy guides ruin games like half-life. i only use them when i get stuck and i cant beat it for a month.

i couldnt buy anything like that. ive preordered hl2 and everything, but i dont think ill be handing over and more money. tbh everything to do with hl2 just seems tainted to me now. maybe ill turn back into a fanboy when i finally play the damn dirty game in all its damn dirty glory.
