Creating Backup Copies

According to a number of forum postings at Steampowered.com, Steam may eventually have its own method for creating backup files for your games.

Also, yep there will be a DVD-sized option for the Backup feature too. It's not going to actually burn the discs, but it will create a self-extracting archive that is broken up into the appropriate-size files.

In addition to the DVD backups, there may also the possibility to create CD sized backups that you can then burn. A chocolate chip cookie goes out to scottyk87 for bringing this to our attention.

i wont need to make any backups because im buying the retail collectors edition. The steam edition is balls imo. The retail version saves me bandwidth, saves valve bandwidth, and saves me blank CD's

Then wait till Nov 16 and buy it. I personnally wanted to play CS Source when it was available, so I bought it over steam, no difference.
