I was infact a the PR 'guy' for Goldeneye Mod (HL1)

So you're saying valve "supports" their "numerous" fansites by "spreading" the news around?

Thats why they hide in in one of the most shittiest, flamed, comment systems ever...

I wouldn't be suprised if this was another csnation bullshit story, and this guy really isn't erik johnson..lol

you think they would put cs iraq back in?

I used to play arabsreets alot...Really hoping for Backalley.
Hated both those maps. And cs_iraq was a custommap, which means they did not make it so they will have no part in porting it over.

Never fucking heard of it. Nice job getting the word out.

Yes, they have a track record of posting news on various fansties forums, which I take as a nice gesture of support.
Thats why they hide in in one of the most shittiest, flamed, comment systems ever...
You consider news posted on the number 1 cs fansite as hidden?

I do have to agree with Evolution that Valve seems to make most of their announcements in relatively obscure ways...

Sure, visiting and commenting on fansites is good, but when it comes to spreading big news around, it should be done in a more official manner, IMO.

I believe this deserves an "OWNED" tag.

This is good news, though I had figured they were going to keep working on maps, player models, etc.

Prodigy is cool, but I'm also hoping some of the more obscure maps make a comeback .. cs_747, cs_thunder, cs_backalley, as well as some of the more popular maps - inferno, train, maybe militia (not a big militia fan).

They can keep Assault, Siege, Estate, and some of the other entirely lopsided maps.

And ..BTW .. I think it's cool the way Valve makes it's announcements. I like the fact they go to fan-sites and make them, and then later on you see them show up on the official websites. But that's just personal preference.

                And wtf is Goldeneye Mod?

ill be paying for Half-life 2....not for CS:S...as far as im concerned u payed early for the priviledge of a 50% done game...well done...pat yourself on the back. CS:S will be a lil bonus trash around for months and months before they sort out the major bugs and flaws.

You never heard of it cuz it fell apart, 2nd week of production. Something about we didn't have enough coders. Not that you could...lol geek like u stays home and trys to get SOO good @ cs.... Nunka, u killed it, and peagle (the "dumb" pussy, yea i got rid of the alliteration. gj u know what an alliteration is) lol u don't know shit I hope you enjoy supporting one of the most strange situations in which valve doesn't know how to communicate, or code, over and over again. Have fun protecting em, cuz u know im right rofl.

I never said this comment system was hidden. You, thankfully, proved my point, by being a flaming dumb fuck :) ty

No, only the stuff you can walk right though is client side, barrels and any other obstructive objects have to be handled server side so that they are the same on every client's computer.

Train, Nuke, Infenro... most wanted maps and they are working on Prodigy... Doh!

Well, maybe at least it will be more enjoyable on Source than is was before.

Btw, there is no such thing like PR in VALVe.

Agree on the map selection, however legal questions aside, all the maps from 1.6 will get ported once the sdk is out, by Valve or not by Valve.

at least their doing something about the map-hungry audience...so stop complaining, they said they're working on porting some of the original maps anyways. I'm really glad that they're working on some new models.

                              Patience is a virtue.
