[CSN NewsBot]

Registrations have been opened for Europe-LAN, one of the larger European LAN's, which will be taking place in Utrecht, Netherlands. Some of the selling points of the LAN are as follows.

• An unique and large location with a total of 6,072 available seats;
  
  
• At least 8 competitions with some nice money and hardware prizes;
  
  
• 54 hours of LAN-pleasure for only € 35,00;
  
  
• Enough good sanitary facilities (toilets and showers);
  
  
• Catering service with also breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I felt it necessary to post this since we usually don't have much news for our friends across the Atlantic. I spent some time in Utrecht last week and would recommend that anyone who can make the trip to this LAN do so. Click for more info!

Hmmmz, this is a new organisation/LAN.. I never heard of it..



I don't want to talk shit about this LAN or anything, but I very much doubt they will even get more then 500 seats full, not even 10% of their (insane) target of 6000+... New big LANs like this never get a huge crowd at once, they need to be build over the years.. Atm only 85 people have registered (not payed!), and only 1.5 months to go.. To little time left until december, and way to big for the 1st time imho (and I know my LAN stuff with 10 years of experience)..



But ok lets see how this new LAN can do.. I wish them all the best..



P.s. Netgamez 2004C (www.netgamez.nl) is next week, that's also in Utrecht (Nieuwegein is next to Utrecht), and that has 1750 seats, 1600 booked/payed already (so a few seats still free for the interested).. They are very well known, have build the LAN up over the years, growing every year.. Great Dutch LAN!

At "The Gathering" in Norway, it is a struggle to get tickets. Its 5200++ seats.

So far it's looking like a fake or it's going to be total disaster. First off, nobody seems to have ever heard of the crew that's organizing it. Second, they've got a pretty small crew (7) to organize such a huge LAN. Third, as far as I know, it's not allowed to spend a night (let alone sleep) in the Jaarbeurs. The event is no where to be found on the Jaarbeurs site either (http://www.jaarbeursutrecht.nl). The location isn't even confirmed and they planned everything out already. If this lan is truly meant for at least 1500 (max 6000) people, you better be sure you have arranged a place to hold it at before you open registrations. This event will probably fail and if it doesn't it'll never even come close to 6000 attendees.

Yeah, it's a shame gumplunger obviously picked the wrong Dutch LAN to promote on CSN (if this LAN ever happens at all even)..



Would have been a much better pick to promote one of the proven established LANs in the Netherlands, like Netgamez or Drome etc..

I can confirm our Little country has all the right liberties when it comes to that.. We think it's better to allow pot then guns..



(I don't smoke at all btw, and smoking in the LAN area's is not allowed)
