New CAL Map

The Cyberathlete Amateur League has announced a possible addition to their maplist for competitive play entitled de_cpl_strike. Opinions are encouraged, so do give this new map a thorough playtest.

A new map (de_cpl_strike) has been uploaded to the Counter-Strike files section. This map is being considered for possible inclusion in the map rotation for CAL and the CPL and we encourage all teams to download and try it out! Please provide any bug reports to maps@caleague.com.

I don't get this.. Why do they try to force another custom map? Why don't they try to give de_piranesi a shot or something? At least everybody has and knows that map.. Nobody in Europe plays these CPL/CAL custom maps..

Piranesi was already tried like 5 seasons ago when the map was released in 1.5 ( i think )

Because nobody actually LIKES PIRANESI, and its a bad map altogether. And I guarantee you not everybody knows the map. Most servers I see drop empty when a map like that comes on.



CPL introduces new maps like these, as far as I know, for better play. They try to make balanced maps, so as one side doesn't dominate all the time in play. Also, making new maps adds variety, something that's needed in league play.

yea hes being specific about piranesi, he just saying why dont they use a map that most "know".



I think its overall sad that we only have 7-8 maps for CS....for about 4 years+...cmon, maps are had to make with all the pieces to a good map puzzle being involved, but damm...

They do it because it is extra funny when the euros, who dont play these custom maps, come to the US and beat the american teams (who play them in CAL) on them.
