    Mercenary Pack 3.0 Released

For all of those still on CS 1.6 and fans of skin packs, the Federated Mercenary Clan has released version 3.0 of their Mercenary Pack. It replaces just about every visual aspect of the game including custom map WAD files, Steam skins, and other goodies like our own Rizzuh's buy script.

Though some might say that it's a bit late for a 1.6 skin pack, those without the funding for such major, long-term investments as CS: Source should appreciate the graphical upgrades. You can download the pack, visit the site, or check below for the gargantuan change list.[break="Click for the list of changes"]

skins are stupid, why bother sucking even more fps into a crappy looking game.

If you guys would check the stats on Gamespy, there are still tons of people playing CS 1.6. As of 8:10 PST there were 75,000+ people playing (according to Gamespy) on Half-Life servers of some sort, which CS:S obviously is not. CSN's own poll strongly suggests that many have not/will not play lots of CS:S and may favor CS 1.6. I think all of you, gumplunger included, might want to reevaluate your statements that people are no longer playing CS 1.6.

What exactly do you mean? He never said "CS 1.6 is dead!" he said some may feel its late for a pack. I think it is, persoanlly. But I'm not the majority now am I? Also you should check official numbers rather then numbers from gamespy.

This would more than likely rape my computer. Just thought you might like to know that. Now you know.

some of the stuff that came with the pack weren't of my likings... so i started dling more stuff... and wow.. am i proud of what i've got in my cs models folder :)

From what I can see in the preview images, you're much better off hand-picking your own models here from CSN. Just my $0.02

Yeah, it's not exactly a great pack.

TBH though, I've never understood the point of packs like this. You always end up editing them yourself anyway. Just save yourself the time and just download models you like one by one from somewhere like here or CDG.
