Countdown Background

Are you one of those people who simply cannot wait for the release of Half-Life 2? Well, neither can I but now you can at least stare at your computer screen and count down the remaining hours! The member Nathaniel, over at Half-Life Fallout, has put together a dynamic desktop background that will countdown the remaining time until Half-Life 2 is released.

Me and FronK have been busy little bees and created a stylish and simple countdown-script you can set as your wallpaper if you're using Windows XP.

For those wondering, the sequence is Weeks : Days : Hours : Minutes : Seconds

The background does work with other operating systems besides just XP, in case you were wondering. You can pick up the necessary files right now. It's what all the cool kids are doing!

best part is, once I read the HL2 went gold ... I made one too ... In flash though ... I also made one for when "The OC" Season 2 starts on NOvember 4th

I like it. It has been done before, I remember there was an old forum I used to visit, and someone posted a similar desktop with a count down to HL2 timer. Im sure the release date it was counting down to was inaccurate, but it was there. This is much cooler since its a real release date, and because its only 3 weeks!

I downloaded and set it up but was unhappy. Now if it has a much nicer background and interface I would probablly use it.

I'm an offical nerd of Hl2. I set that as my background for my windows computer, my linux server, and every other workstation I have in my house. And then my school is going to have it tomorrow MUHAHAHA!

Only countdowns I do are new years, me and my gf's months/years and birthdays of freinds and myself :P

You can customize it (the background that is). They mention how to do it in the thread.

Great, I was using a bad script at first. Now I can stare at my desktop for weeks and hours to come! :)
