I just don't understand why I currently have a gold version of a game, paid and bought for, yet still unable to play sitting on my harddrive, due to waiting for copies to be available in the shop.
They took the money quick enough from the ol' plastic. The whole reason why I use steam is because its a content delivery system. I won't be getting a hard copy of the game or be able to claim a copy from a store. Booooo!!!!!
But been waiting for x amount of time so whats another month eh? *cries into coffee cup*
Just wished they had left it a bit closer. Damn the pain of waiting is making me insane!!!! 8)Comment

You can't play right now because it's against Valve's contract with VU. Valve can't release it through Steam before it's in stores because VU doesn't make any money off Steam sales (yet, that may change if it's decided in the lawsuit that Valve owes VU some percentage of Steam sales of HL2). As for having taken your money quickly, that's what happens when you preorder a game. And look at it like this: You and all of the other people who preordered through Steam (myself included) may have helped to show Vivendi that they would lose money by delaying the game any longer than necessary. All of the Steam preorders gave Valve a bit of leverage over VU, to at least not screw over the fans by sitting on the finished game because they were pissed off over the issues of the lawsuit and countersuit.Comment
