E-Sports Entertainment Association has launched a new "remembers..." series of articles. To kick off things, Kyle "Ksharp" Miller of Team 3D remembers CPL Winter 2002 where he and the remaining 3D members became victorious champions over the likes of SK-Gaming, GoL, DoP, and more which launched the infamous clan into eSports stardom. Along with a look back at the matches themselves, Ksharp shares his feelings which offers some insight into the mind of the one and only.
How did it feel managing to take 1st place after you'd failed to a year previous versus NiP?Read what it feels like to win $30,000 with your trusty keyboard, mouse, and those other aspects referred to as teamwork, communication, judgement, and a nice helping of overall skill.
Ksharp: That was a tough loss because the matches were so insanely close, first match going into overtime and the 2nd coming down to the wire. After getting beaten pretty badly on train I was a little apprehensive going into nuke but we managed to hold our own and the guaranteed $25,000 ensured I didn't feel too bad when it was all over. Winning 1 year later was very satisfying to say the least, it established the base off which we built the entire entity of 3D. The sponsors, the contacts etc. All very important to ensuring a long lasting team with the ability to travel to overseas tournaments and practice together in person. Definitely one of if not the best victory we've had.
