The sixth preloading phase for Half-Life 2 has just begun. You must restart your Steam clients if you're interested in picking up the latest content.

The sixth phase of the Half-Life 2 preload begins to Steam account holders today. This will allow users to download the Half-Life 2 maps in encrypted form. No purchase is required to pre-load Half-Life 2, but is required to activate the game. The moment the game is made available, those who have pre-loaded and purchased the game via Steam will be ready to start playing.

This seems like a huge mistake to me. Now if the encryption was cracked all thats lefts is some dlls they could use from the leak - lets hope it goes gold real soon.

Holy crap! I did not expect this! After maps should be the game's code and whatever else Valve had to change in September. We are definitley very close to a gold announcement.
