CS: Source Reviews

Apparently 2 reviews of Counter-Strike: Source do not seem adequate for some. Our friends at HLFallout have stumbled across several more of these bundles of joy.

Unlike other reviews, this particular writeup is formatted by listed points of nearly every change there is to the game from the previous engine. Click here for quite possibly the most grandiose list of Counter-Strike changes ever.

Still debating whether to purchase Counter-Strike: Source? These reviews should aide you on your decision.

The MyGuyGames review is nice. The PrimoTech is good for those of you who take pride that your card gets 3 better FPS than the other companies' card.



The last review, by Raziel1Slipknot, is just crap, don't read it. When it "listed points of nearly ever change there is to the game from the previous engine", it was more like listing crap based on opinions with tons of stuff left out. Just know you're going to be reading stuff like this:

-] If you jump on a tire from a high spot you loss one to none hp.

That's the most useful bit of information you'll get from that review. Other than that you get stuff like

Raziel1Slipknot in all sense of the word is a fanboy, if you're looking for a honest look at the game there would be no point in going to him. He'd see anything using rose tinted glasses.



Even I would trust PC Gamer more than him! :/

They really aren't anywhere near perfect. Anyone else notice that there are 25% more headshots in CS:S now? Not to mention that if I shoot someones right shoulder I get a headshot.

I blasted a guy in the face with the pump shotgun 1 meter away and only did 10 damage.



We need better hitboxes.

Might have something to do with the spray - pray - unrealistic recoil problem.

The Steam review is TERRIBLE. Talk about not being objective. There are obvious flaws in the game (which doesn't necessarily dictate whether the game is good or not) that were included in the review as a GOOD thing. Honestly, the SteamPowered forums have arguably the dumbest user base ever. Fan boys and flamers, people who can't say anything without their incredibly biased opinions (which seem to derive from nowhere).

In my opinion that was the best overview of the whole CS community I've ever read. Grats.

CSNation and the Steam forums should battle. CSN is full of idiots too, but luckily they only make up about half of the userbase, where the Steam forums have about two intelligent people.
