I am sure a patch is in progress and I look forward to it, but I doubt it will be out this weekend because it hasn't got any showstopping bugs.

got player sound replacement working. I'm able to connect to pub servers too. Basically you have to create a sound/player folder in the Cstrike directory. Here is the directory structure along with all the filenames:

Drop in sounds with those filenames and CSS uses them instead of the default. I downloaded an old CS pack and renamed the files and it worked (CSS has far less sounds then CS did though). Sounds are mono, I tried 11, 22 and 44hz. ALL worked. Of course the higher the hz, the more memory it takes up, but the better quality.Comment

Footsteps in CS:S are so ridiculously hard to hear compared to CS. That was my favorite part about pubs; listening to morons run around everywhere and walling them.
