you and davej are in complete agreement, and yet you go off on him?

there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with you. I hope you're not a young child, because your mind is already inundated with smut and garbage. And I hope you're not old because you can't use the English language correctly, and apparently can't read either.

Please stop making comments. I'm pretty old and jaded, yet you're still managing to offend me.

I think this is extremely depressing. I expected to get blown away by CSS but instead, i realize it's just the same old crap with better graphics. So many bugs weren't removed even though they call this a full version. Full of what? BS. There's a whole like.. 7 maps? 2 player models? the sound effects are extremely lack luster as far as the guns go. There are a few cosmetic errors that im sure im no the only one who noticed, but they haven't been fixed. Anyone notice how there's a hole in the back of the USP slide when you reload? how about the fact that 2 shells come out for every one bullet you shoot? What have they been doing between the time of the beta and this release? I refuse to believe they were all slaving over those maps. With such a huge beta test, it should be nearly bug free. That's a fact. It makes me so mad that just because they released steam, they think that they can release a lack luster game with the promise of getting around to updating it. It should be great by now. It's no more than ho-hum. I would give it a 6/10. HLDM would have been so much better than this rehash of CS.
Want some cheese with your whine?

JFC I can't believe the whining that goes on EVERY TIME there's something new done to CS. CS: Source is another step in the evolution of the game, not a new game in itself. That's all it ever was meant to be - other than some of the new technologies in the engine, there wasn't anything revolutionary done to the CS game play. That's a good thing for the most part.

You're complaining about graphical issues that most people probably don't even notice. And I went back and looked at the slide on the USP as it's reloading - there's no "hole", just the slot that the hammer sticks out when the slide is closed. And when I fired it, it's ejecting one empty for each shot .. so I have no f'in clue what you're talking about.

It's not perfect. It's not complete, obviously, with the missing maps and the missing player skins. But I'm sure that will change with the ever approaching release date of HL2. Remember: This is the multiplayer component to Half-Life 2, not the main event. Valve is concentrating on Half-Life 2, as they should be. CS will be finished over time.

While I'm not a big fan of Steam, I have to applaud Valve on the relative few problems that this rollout has had with Steam, and the fact that CS: Source is looking so polished even though it's not complete.

If you want to whine, then whine, you're allowed, but good gawd, find something constructive to whine about. Don't be like 80% of the CS fan base and whine just to be whining.

I have a small problem that maybe somebody can help me with. To change any settings from the defaults in CSS, I have to manually write them in my config.cfg. If I change any setting in the game, I get the console message: "could not write to config.cfg. config.cfg is read-only." The problem is, my config.cfg is not read-only. I have most of my settings the way I want them, but every time I change to one of my custom sprays that worked in the beta (or any spray other than the default bullseye) it changes immediatley to the default when I exit the options menu. If I uncheck crosshair transparency and hit "apply" it immediately rechecks it for me and I get that console message again. I also can't change my name without changing it in the text of the config. I didn't have this problem in the beta, and I assure you, my config and userconfig are NOT read-only. This is really the only problem I'm having with the game right now. Any ideas?

Apart from the detailed computer and keyboard, office doesn't look that paticually amazing. Rather similar to CZ tbh, not like a complete new engine. It's just old CS really with new maps and models, like CZ. So they've done this "same game, graphical update" method a second time hmm! I'm sure if a bit more effort was put into it, CS Source would look even better. If you're telling me that those screenshots look as good as any other game that came out in 2004, then I don't know what you're talking about.
CS:S already looks good enough already. People still play CS even though it has awesomely bad graphics. I am not sure if you knew, but the CS community whines about any major changes a lot. I doubt CS:S would be accepted if it was TOO different.

There is still some stuff they need to fix. I also still cant get into the game with reforce. Gives me the set error bs. Drives me fucking nuts. :/

RIGHT.....so i wonder how long it will be till we get some custom models (and figure out how to use said models LOL). I know you people have been fiddling arounde with SoftImage XSI (i know i have) and we should be able to export the stuff we make into CS:S. I am gonna attempt some stuff tonight, and if it works I might even submit something.

Damn, Deleted Scenes is cool, it's a large single-player campaign!

And I though CZ was worthless...

What? Impossible. The technology to put vehicles in games is years away, just like colour.
