If it has the full back catalogue then I can make a new account with the name I want and still have all of the old games.

Not to mention the fact most people I know will wait for the box, I don't want to be playing CS:S on my tod.

What Valve is saying is this:
"Hey Vivendi, you know that lawsuit thing and how you can hold HL2, the game, you know, we made? Yea. Well here's 2 options for you: 1) Release our game on store shelves now. No questions. Or... 2) We make all of the sales money by getting consumers to buy on Steam now and proceed to laugh when you sell no copies whatsoever on store shelves."

So, he works on it for 3 years and when it's finally done, he uses the layout on his site in order to get the first looks and maybe someone might buy the same stuff you're selling on your site that you wanted them to build for you, but the stuff bought off their site you get no money for even though it comes out of your inventory. It's not an exact situation, but someone the same.
I hope this spurs VU into releasing HL2 ASAP, in order not to miss out on sales!

Anyone know if regular banktransit works with steam (even if it takes 3 or 4 days longer)?

yea, I rather have it on CD/DVD just so that I dont have to download massive amount of data if I decide to reformat my computer and reinstall HL2 and other programs.
