      17. To incite to hostile action: a war that set families against one another.
Actually that still doesnt work in the context you used it. According to your previous statement, you intend to place your headcrabs upon the heads of Valve's employees. You are not "inciting to a hostile action", you are physically the cause of the action itself. Different. Sorry, I dont know you or have anything against you, I just cant stand it when people botch the english language.

        Barney had ammo.

        I needed ammo.
Barney has infinite ammo, so it would be wiser to have him with you fighting the opposition compared to you slaying him for his Glock.

Sounds like Aesop's fable on the goose that laid golden eggs.

HL2 doesn't 'deserve' any rating - it will get what it gets on it's own merits -

In a perfect world, that is. PC Gamer, or any magazine for that matter has to suck a lot of cack for something like this. How many off the rack sales do you suspect the HL2 Lambda logo and words 'EXCLUSIVE REVIEW' in 84pt font gets? Bean counters can probably quantify that in money down to the nearest hundred.

So what does a publication do for those sweet, sweet rights? In the case of Driv3r, two magazines actually *guaranteed* Atari a minimum rating for the game. While this may be extreme, it sheds light on the horrible lengths people will stretch their principles for money.

The money. Vivendi wants the money. Valve wants the money. Future Publishing definately wants the money. How much is a percentage point worth?

Well yeah, but they probaly did the same with Doom 3, so the over inflated scoring system is all on the same scale. So if HL2 gets a higher score than doom 3, then it's probably a better game.

I'll wait for PC Zone, PC Gamer is all screenshots and overated reviews. I prefer a more honest opinion.

Got to hate those screenshots in reviews.

With that I'll explain, PC Gamer cannot write an article if their lives depended on it. Instead they fill the magazine with screenshots to make up for it. I, myself, would rather hear of the interesting features of the game. Rather than look at the nice static pictures.
