    Team 3D Wins WCG USA

Team 3D has just won the World Cyber Games USA competition for the 3rd year in a row. They defeated upper-bracket champion United 5 on de_inferno and won 13-10. Let it be noted that this tournament was played with Counter-Strike: Condition Zero.

In other WCG news, team Alternate aTTax defeated top teams such as Mousesports to become Germany's WCG representative.

        That news post is misleading

SK's famous cs squad is NOT german. SK has two cs squads; the German squad has never been internationally competitive, and in fact has drifted in and out of existence periodically.

The SK team at the German WCG qualifier was SK.de, not the Heaton/Potti squad SK.swe.

SK.swe won the swedish qualifier months ago, and is thus already qualified for the finals in SF.

can anyone clarify what the big differences are for these teams having to play condition zero instead of reg cs

Oh great, thats smart, play the tourney on CZ. Nothing better then denounce the credibility of the tourney and add plenty of excuses.

Models and sounds are different, grenades are more powerful but no longer go through walls. The standard cs maps are played. The main difference: people can't spectate the tournament if they don't have cz, which is a large portion of the cs eSports community.

Who cares. There are enough cs tournaments out there. CZ deserves one REGARDLESS if you think its basically the same game as CS. So if that means WCG using CZ for marketing purposes then who the hell are you to argue that. The top "CS" teams certainly don't mind it and by them entering the tourny says more then enough. You just need to face the facts that business comes first in gaming buddy. If you don't have or want to spend $25 on CZ, then don't complain "on behalf" on those who can't watch the tourny because they don't have the game. Go to steam forums and complain because that's all the whiny people go.
