What needs fixing? Put cl_smooth to 0 and everythings perfect.
    Hardly

The hit detection still makes me feel like I'm playing BF1942.

A few people on the Steam forums are suggesting it's another DDoS...

      D'oh.

My feelings exactly. It's been said before, CS had razor sharp aiming and (usually) netcode, whereas CS:S feels more sluggish and abstract. It's definitely not cl_smooth, I've tried both and there's hardly a difference. It also feels as if mouse acceleration is on..

D'oh. The Steam status page certainly shows that things aren't doing too great.
Strange. I can only log in to offline mode, and it still allows me to play in servers with people.. is that weird or am I stupid? Both?

Actually, it looks like a lot of things are falling apart this weekend... Steam is the last in a long line of services/sites that I've been unable to get to or have been throwing up errors.

Let's just all play this in the meantime: http://weboggle.shackworks.com/ (spotted on Shacknews)

Oh wondeful. Cut the bandwith then launch HL2 preload and a CS:S patch.

Can't login for a while then.

Is anybody detecting a decrease in performance after installing Service Pack 2 for WinXP, or is it all in my head?
might be the firewall taking up memory or something, tried disabling it?

                  WHY FIX SKYWALKING?

Its ljust like those idiots that said boosting was part of CS and its tactics... well skywalking has always been something to look for in de_dust for as long as I can remeber so LETS PUT IT IN EVERY MAP!

                  I can see it now:

                  SkyWalking to return!

Has anyone else noticed that the shooting flares for the dual elites are off position? Maybe it's just me.

Yep noticed the moment someone picked them up and shot. It appears the flash is coming out their hands :|

Nope, I've got the WinXP firewall disabled in favour of the Norton firewall I've had for years. It could just be in my mind, but even if it's not there's not a big enough difference to upset me too much.

He's working at Valve, but keeps a pretty low profile. Cliffe once said something about trying to convince him to post, but it never happened that I know of.

cliffe? can we comment on this? the aim/netcode feels wacky. the aim doesnt feel the same as 1.6! ill say it again, if this isnt fixed (put back to how it was) the game will be nothing more than eye candy. meaning youll sell lots of copies but not have a lasting impact like HL1 engine...which Im sure you probably know? This is the only issue of concern to me, yet no one really talks about it...please comment if you can...
